Today is National Pie Day and one of the most popular Christmas pies is pecan pie. What does this have to do with our Senior Mission Trip? North Pole, AK is the most Christmasy town in the world (what do you expect from a town named North Pole?). The town has year-round Christmas decorations, an official town Santa Clause, and a counter on their website that displays the days remaining before Christmas.
Now Pie is not the healthiest food. Most people make resolutions on a holiday that follows closely after Christmas, New Years, that often include health goals. These, unfortunately, are often forgotten or discarded by the time National Pie Day comes along. On our Senior Mission Trip we will be teaching healthy cooking classes that will help people stay healthy while still eating food that tastes great. More importantly though, we will be witnessing to the community, and it may be through our influence that one soul, or many, will find ultimate, eternal health in Jesus Christ.
If you have a burden for missions, good food, and have a love for the people of the Arctic, please donate to our mission project. You can donate by clicking the link below. Please pray that the right arm of the gospel will be the arm that saves someone from eternal death and lifts them up to a relationship with Jesus.
